We have decided to move the Festival to September, 2018 for reasons due to weather patterns and most likely having rain that week of April.

It is still at ChicoRendezvous.com each season and they are our wonderful, supportive home! Please let anyone who is interested in Submissions or Tickets be aware of this change, greatly appreciated.

New announcements on our Fiscal Sponsor will also be messaged soon as well. Chico is having a new energy that has not been active in the arts for 5 years in regards to new venues and awareness. Let’s hope our group will be contacted and included now, as it is 7 years old.

Lucky 7 Season will be awesome, over 400 films submitted so far. The Local Submissions is lacking greatly this season and we want Chico to be aware of this.

All Student Submissions fees are waived, please pass that on. CIFF California has made it through a storm and we are ready for the world to see how much we have evolved!

“Chico Indie Film now accepting flicks for festival”

Chico Independent Film Festival is now accepting short and feature film…Calling all film lovers. The Chico Independent Film Festival is currently accepting submissions for its 2018 Season.

The festival is planned April, 2018!

We look forward to promoting another facet of the vibrant Chico arts community during our LUCKY 7 Season of the Chico Independent Film Festival.

Short and feature films from all genres are welcome. “We are always looking for a great story, long or short, and we encourage local submissions,” CIFF said.

“The combination of local talent, virtual cooperative communities and interactive collaboration with local commerce and tourism ensures a successful event that will continue to highlight Chico filmmakers and artists.”

Quote from Leila Rodriguez article from Chicoer.com!

Festival entry fee for Chico Locals is $20.

Entry fees for student filmmakers will be waived for this season’s panel review. Directors may also enter more than one motion picture for consideration.

“The importance of independent short films currently in production, mainly has to do with artistic freedom and budget,” Desmore explain. “The idea that creates a short film, can be extended also into a feature length film, if needed. From two minutes to 48 minutes, most have quicker edits and an attention span for viewers of all ages to view newer modes of filmmaking that would otherwise be too expensive to produce for most short filmmakers.”

Along with screenings, director’s talks and live entertainment, an awards ceremony will conclude the four-day event.(Restaurant Opening Meet and Greet on Thursday, April 26th next door to venue at 6pm-9pm – Pending).

A panel of judges comprising Kelly Desmore, Larni Castro, Antonio Ramirez, Madelyn Coffman, Mike Pulliam, Danni Yang,
