Amy and Scott, an overly imaginative and husband and wife pair of would-be-writers, are living on the waning generosity of their wealthy parents. When they are cut off, they stumble on a desperate scheme to commit the perfect murder to collect their inheritance early. As they toggle between colorful fantasies and hopeful delusions, their nephew, a brilliant kid with Asperger’s Syndrome, discovers their plan and shares it with his sister. The ineptitude of the adults is no match for the covert operations and fancy gadgetry of the kids in this fun film.

This uniquely entertaining comedy is filled with richly-textured one-liners and malapropisms accompanied by beautifully crafted fantasy sequences and wild costumes from the spectacular world of Amy’s imagination. Writer’s Cramp features performances from American Idol contestant Megan Joy and Quinn Allman (The Used) and stars Raphael Barker (Short Bus). This film is a treat for kids and adults alike, and will keep the whole family laughing and guessing until the end.…/Awards-mark-succ…

In the world of only land and sky three Friends sing, roll and play together. Their happiness is brought to a halt by the appearance of a single white chair in the horizon.
Two of the Friends slide happily on it but the third one wants it all for himself.

Director Biography
Naser Shillova was born in 1967 in a small town near Prishtina, The Republic of Kosovo. He migrated to UK in 1989 and has been living in UK ever since. Naser has attended many prestigious filmmaking institutions, such as The Moving Image Society, The Panico Studios (London Film School) and Brighton Film School to receive training in many areas of film production, including screenwriting, cinematography and film directing. Naser has contributed in many short films, music videos and adverts and continues to develop his artistic and technical skills in filmmaking.

Director Statement
The latest technological development has left humanity in an almost unbelievable time of high-speed communication and progress. However in terms of humanity I believe we have gone backwards. People all over the world still fight for “the chair”, which philosophically represents greed, power, superiority and control.
Think Twice deals with exactly this human weakness and tries to address it accordingly. In this story friendship wins over power and greed and I truly believe a story like this should be able to help many people from all corners of the world to see and feel better our own humanity.

“Sonic Boom” is the funny bone of the iconic Sonic the Hedgehog universe, which began as a Sega video game 26 years ago. This 52 x 11″ TV series follows team Sonic, including the Blue Blur himself, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and Sticks, as they cleverly battle nefarious genius Dr. Eggman and his hench bots.

Director Biography
Sometimes considered offbeat, Natalys Raut-Sieuzac knows what she wants (to be a director), and what she does not (to lose her soul). Her animation career is a show business Cinderella story. Seemingly overnight, she went from Production Assistant and Assistant to the Director on the TV series “Odd Family,” to Co-director on the CGI cartoon “My Giant Friend.” Afterward, she graduated to Creator/Director of kids’ program “Monk, The Little Dog.”

Along the way, Natalys acquired considerable skills in video editing and writing. A lifelong student of her art, she still is willing to learn much more.

One could define Natalys as a hyperactive, one-woman band, lucky winner of a 2011 Prix SACD Nouveau Talent Animation honor for her talent as a wordsmith. But if one did so, then one would be grossly over-simplifying. As Series Director, Natalys fine tunes the great composition entitled “Sonic Boom.” For that, please call her “Maestro!”

Director Statement
“Sonic Boom” is an animated TV series based on the “Sonic the Hedgehog” video game. Because we must respect the 25-year-old Sonic universe and refurbish it at the same time, we embrace each episode as an opportunity to put theory into practice. Each episode has its share of challenges and problems to solve. The artistic proposals that my team and I create are discussed with all of the stakeholders of this international co-production. There are many exchanges, and it can be daunting, but like the Sonic character, I must stay focused and never surrender. Directing “Sonic Boom” has been a unique and rich experience.…/hedgehog-all-seasons-our-guide-20-m…

A young mare visits Cyprus to take part in races. Frustrated from failure, she abandons the racetrack after confronting her strict father. The mare will meet new friends who will try to help her find her lost courage.

Director Biography
Alexis Chaviaras, born in Antwerp in 1978, has been teaching animation at universities in Cyprus since 2009. Alexis has been generating media animation material since 2002 and is currently researching the field of scenic design for 3D computer animated films.

Director Statement
The incredibly talented people that contributed to this production made this film a joy to create. This film aims to be appealing to a wide range of ages. So, no violence, no sex, no explosions! These apparent restrictions enabled the story to focus on the building of relationships between friends and the psychological challenge the protagonist is faced with certain philosophical matters that subtly deal with questions such as racism and the path to success will be easier to be picked up by the more mature members of the audience. In this film we also get to know Cyprus by seeing traditions in front of significant landmarks and by hearing Cypriot characters communicate in their native language.

photo-1-gbas_all_3_stillSix-year-old Joey wants to be a doctor when he grows up, but his parents explain that he has to be a soldier instead, and kill people. When Joey protests this dark future, they explain that we only kill people in other countries, and only the ones wea
ring uniforms. “What if they take the uniforms off?” Joey asks. Confused as to why he should grow up to kill people, Joey keeps asking more questions, as his parents doggedly explain the “logic” of war. When his father admits that it’s very sad that so many innocent civilians also get killed, Joey asks, “So, it’s *not* okay?” But his mother cheerily explains, “Of course it’s okay–as long as we’re *trying* to kill the ones with the uniforms. Will Joey’s innocence prevail? Or will his parents’ indoctrination finally wear him down?

Antiwar comedy. A group of severely wounded soldiers are cheerful about their injuries. After all, it’s not like they lost their arms or legs for nothing. It was “for their country,” so that makes it okay. This film uses humor to encourage the viewer to think twice about the personal cost of war.

[NOTE: Although I am currently in Michigan looking after my elderly mother, I acted and made films in L.A. for 11 years. I do fly to L.A. for festivals that have Q&A, and 90% of my 1000+ Facebook friends are actors and filmmakers I’ve worked with in L.A.]
Jonny Lewis started acting in 2002, at age 45. He starred in three stage plays in New York, and won an award for the first short film he ever acted in, before moving to Los Angeles in 2003, where he acted in 150 student and independent films. In 2009 he wrote and shot his first short film. Since then he has shot 16 more (including some in Spanish), and written about a hundred. He has completed one feature film (a “spiritual comedy”) and is working on others. Jonny’s current project consists of a series of antiwar comedy shorts.

Director Statement
War is simply average people trying to kill each other because someone “higher up” told them to do so. Seems kind of crazy to me. Yet we accept it as natural and right. I don’t. So I’ve written several short comedies highlighting the many ways in which war is pointless. Let’s have a good laugh, and then think again.

It’s the 19th September 1865, a sunny day in autumn. St. Georgen, a rural town in the heart of the Black Forest in Germany is typically busy at this time of year with the harvest ahead.

Anna, a mother of three, leaves the house early to work another day on the fields. She leaves her youngest son Ludwig with her maid Barbara. The girl however has other plans and sneaks away to meet her secret lover, leaving the boy behind.
Behind the house, Anna’s oldest son and troublemaker Wilhelm presents his younger brother Mathias with a matchbox. They start a fight and a burning match falls down to the ground into a pile of kindling. The dry wood catches fire instantly. The two troublemakers escape and leave Ludwig behind.

Georg Fünkner, the local teacher who spent the morning teaching the girl class, dismisses his students and prepares some office work when he suddenly notices dark smoke rising behind the church tower.

Outside the village on the fields Anna discovers the smoke and rushes back to the village where she is welcomed by utter panic. People are rushing around screaming, trying to save their belongings and find their loved ones. The fire brigade tries to extinguish the increasing inferno without success. Anna finds her two oldest sons well, however she has to learn that her youngest son Ludwig is still missing. With her last remaining strength she tries to get into the burning house to save her son, however she is held back and breaks down crying.

Some time later the remains of the village are just smoking ruins. Dead and injured people are being taken to hospital. Georg tries to make a start on organizing the chaos around him, just to find Ludwig who had successfully escaped the flames.
Based on original recordings, Funkenflug serves as an outstanding example of solidarity with a town facing its biggest catastrophe in history and citizens regaining strength and courage to rebuild the town to the important centre of the Black Forest it is today.

Director Biography
Stephanie Kiewel (24) is a young German aspiring director and cinematographer who recently finished a Film and TV-Production degree at the University of Cumbria in Carlisle and is currently based in Manchester.
The 24-year-old grew up on her family’s farm in the Black Forest in Germany, where she discovered her passion for film and photography very early. After working for a newspaper as a journalist and photographer, she decided to fulfill her dream and study her passion in England.

FUNKENFLUG is her debut as a director and a very personal project, retelling the history of her hometown, which has been produced with the support of the whole town and numerous volunteers.
For her outstanding commitment she won the ‘New Designer of the Year: Runner Up 2015’ at New Designers in London and the Royal Television Society Award for ‘Best Student Drama’

Director Statement
FUNKENFLUG is a very personal project to me. I am retelling the story of my hometown that lost everything and came back to strength thanks to the endless solidarity of its citizens. I wanted to create a medium to open the eyes of the audience and illuminate their past but it turned into something much bigger.

FUNKENFLUG is an outstanding example of solidarity, which is not only shown in the script itself, but in the whole production of this film. I directed Funkenflug in collaboration with current and former students of the University of Cumbria (UK) as well as nearly 100 inexperienced volunteers in Germany after developing it for more than a year. FUNKENFLUG is my debut as a director directing over 80 non-professionals ranging from three to 85 years old. The film is fully shot at original locations in the Black Forest and mainly founded through donations from associations of that little town.

Harvey and Janet are decades into their marriage living in uber affluent Connecticut. Their three daughters are fully grown and have moved out of the house, with their youngest, Allie, still living just down the road. Harvey and Janet met in college, romanced, married only to live an empty life later. Harvey is a titan of the financial industry but, by Janet’s estimation, never gave her more than material wealth. A regular Saturday morning slams their lives when Harvey recounts the half-wit, early stage Alzheimer clouded memories of a terrible dream he had where their oldest daughter called in the middle of the night to say that their next door neighbour had hit and killed their youngest daughter… But was it just a dream? As Harvey continues the retelling Janet’s terrified mind races back and forth, trying to process whether it was just a dream or it really happened. Then…the phone rings.

Director Statement
It is a lifetime opportunity for a director in Hollywood to work on a film based on a story by Stephen King. I feel blessed, honoured and responsible to lead this project. It is the hard work and brilliant performance by the two finest and greatest actors, real life couple, Roxanne Hart and Phil Casnoff, that the characters of Janet and Harvey have come to life. My hand picked team, my wife – Monika Sathyan – Executive Producer, Maggie Lin, Vikas Sethi & Hiten Golakiea – Producers, Paul H Magid – Script and Screenplay, Sebastian Andrade – Original Music, Drew Ganyer – Cinematographer, Yana Vaselova – Production Designer, Carl Angel – Art, Venkatakrishnan Alwar – Visual Effects and rest of the crew, are the real ‘talent’ force who made this movie possible. Eventually, it is God’s blessings, (miraculous presence of a damaged car on the location, still a mystery?) and the guidance of my mentor – James Pasternak, the final movie is what it is and we are overwhelmed by the appreciation that we are receiving by everyone who has seen it. We thoroughly enjoyed making it, creatively very satisfying and all the hard work, rehearsals, pre production and planning, paid off above expectations. Watch to believe it and thanks for all the applause!…

“LUTAH, A Passion for Architecture, A Life in Design”
by Kum-Kum Bhavnani

Ryan Pettey Writer
Gretchen Lieff Producer
Leslie Sweem Bhutani Producer

LUTAH explores the life of a remarkably versatile architect who left an impressive legacy. Initially eclipsed by her male contemporaries in the early 20th century, Lutah Maria Riggs navigated her way through the male-centric world of architecture and brought a freshness to the established architectural styles of Southern California. Riggs blazed a trail for women, relying on the courage of her convictions and a hint of eccentricity. She pursued her passions and created a life of independence, an exceptional choice for a woman at that time. Never before seen photographs and journal entries from Riggs’s personal collection, and candid interviews, this documentary reveals a side of Lutah Maria Riggs that has gone unnoticed.
